CLOZE TEST INVERSION

I enjoy cooking, I have frequently had disasters in the kitchen. Once long ago, in the days garlic was still a novelty in England, I got confused between a clove and a head, put an entire head into a cucumber and yoghurt salad. It looked so cool and delicious THAT all my guests took great helpings. Rarely they have had a greater shock when they took their first mouthful. On another occasion I decided to bake some “quick and easy” bread we had none in the house AND guests were invited for dinner. Being in a hurry, I decided there was no need to weigh everything exactly and I just guessed how much of the ingredients to use. I suppose it is not surprising the loaf was as hard as rock and had much the same taste. Never I been quite so embarrassed, , as I offered my guests salt instead of sugar with their coffee. This happened my little boy had heard that sugar was bad for you and had decided to fill the sugar bowl with something less harmful for the teeth!
